Keys to succeed (A point of view)

You just got 17 and a lot of questions comes up in your mind but they are not clear. You don’t know who to ask, what exactly to ask, or even what’s going to be next in your life. It’s true that it’s a hard decision at your 17 to know what profession fits you best and would be pleasant to do for the rest of your life. Even though there are people that can help you through this important decision in your life, only you can decide what’s the best and will make your life happier.

You finally made a decision. You select a nice College or University and here we are. You think that this field is probably right for you or, even better, it is what you have dreamt! Of course, all the time that has passed until you made this decision cannot be summarized in one paragraph, but the purpose of this article is not to guide you through this decision, but rather express a point of view of what is like to realize what you love most and what are the signs that will lead you to this realization.

There will be days that you think you did wrong, that you select something that doesn’t fit to you. You may thought that you have losing your time making this hard decision after all, trying for it, and you didn’t chose, eventually, the right path. When you finally understand that maybe all these thoughts were not true, that the path for your dreams is not short and dreams don’t get achieved in one day, or without trying at all, that time is where the most beautiful journey of your life begins.

When you enter College or University some lessons are difficult and sometimes not easily understood. On the other hand, some lessons are easy for you and you question yourself is it me or is it really an easy lesson and everyone is doing well too? Let me tell you something, nothing is easy if you don’t love it. When you realize that something is easy for you and that keeps happening all the time, then you do something right. Yes, it’s time to realize that you made the right decision for you.

As time goes by, University or College comes to an end with a lot of good and bad memories. Again, you come across to a difficult decision. What’s the next step? What should I write to my resume? Am I having the right skills for my dream job, or even a job that it’s OK for me as a first job?

Finding a job is not easy. You may have all the qualifications for a job and sometimes that isn’t enough. What I’ve realized from the last years, when I got to University and now by getting my first job in my favorite field of Computer Science, is that the key points in order to succeed are the followings:

· Love what you are doing

· Set high standards

· Always remember that hard work pays off

· Believe in yourself

If you are not loving what you are doing, if you’re not setting goals in your life, if you are not always remember that all these times that you were working hard you gained something that will come back to you in the future, then you’re halfway to become a professional in what you love.

Finally, if you don’t believe in yourself, if you don’t believe that all this hard work is something valuable, then why you expecting someone else to believe in you?

I hope this article makes you think again if you really love what you do, convince you that it’s valuable to follow your dreams and it’s never too late, to work hard in order to get what you really want, and first and foremost, to remind you that believing in yourself will lead you to beautiful things that you didn’t even imagine that could happen to you!
